The role is for an enthusiastic, efficient and highly-organised graduate with wide knowledge of environmental and/or social sustainability aspects, seeking a varied role in a top-tier consultancy.

This role can be in London, Guildford or Bristol and the team are looking for the successful candidate to join as soon as possible.
A typical week would include:
Playing a key role in the team’s work on the renowned Airport Carbon Accreditation programme which WSP developed and now runs with a global airports’ industry body. This includes reviewing and advising airports with respect to the management, reporting and reduction of their carbon emissions and their applications for certification in the ACA scheme
Helping to deliver technical work and outputs (reports, slide decks, briefing notes, webinars) for leading clients
Analysing and researching clients’ sustainability challenges and using best practice tools and approaches to provide industry-leading advice.
Assisting with assessments of GHG emissions, sustainability strategy and/or resource efficiency for infrastructure projects going through EIA in the planning process
Assisting with environmental management systems, training, auditing and compliance. Assisting with research and thought-leadership to help position WSP in the marketplace
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
A good understanding across a range of sustainability issues. Understanding of carbon reporting and management (e.g. Scopes 1, 2 and 3) would be particularly useful. The specialisms developed can come from work experience or project/research carried out during studies.
The applicant must have strong quantitative/analytical skills (e.g. GIS, coding (Python, R), Power BI, Excel) and be able to demonstrate these.
Knowledge of UK and international legislation, guidance and best practice in these areas.
A relevant degree (probably at Masters level) in environmental sciences, the sustainability realm, environmental and social management and/or climate.
Any experience in a professional business environment, for instance in consultancy, as part of an in-house team or other relevant organisation working in this field would be beneficial.
Graduate membership of IEMA, IES or other relevant professional membership – or willingness to work towards this
The ability to clearly explain sustainability issues, solutions and the need for urgent momentum in the type of recommendations businesses need to embrace
Competent in numerical analyses (Excel) and the production of written/presentation outputs.
