As a Senior Civil Engineer, you'll be working in a team environment alongside other Engineers, Hydraulic Modellers and Asset Planners in the delivery of water, wastewater and/or drainage infrastructure projects. Your responsibilities will include ensuring accurate and efficient delivery of high-profile projects for internal and external Clients that include Irish & UK Utilities. You will exercise independent engineering judgement and have the opportunity to provide innovative solutions to engineering problems. You will be a proactive and collaborative team member.
The role will enable you to further develop and use your technical skills, applying your expertise to help us continue driving forward in terms of both technical quality and service efficiency.
A typical week would include:
Leading feasibility studies / options development assessments for potable water (infrastructure and/or non-infrastructure) and wastewater/drainage schemes.
Developing water asset risk prioritisation.
Progressing infrastructure design and oversee others in progressing design activities.
Working closely with Clients to ensure projects are delivered to their expectations in terms of quality, time and budget.
Line Management including others continual professional development and assisting junior members of staff.
Undertaking own continuing professional development under guidance from Line Managers.
Operating in accordance with the corporate health and safety, environmental and quality standards.
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
A relevant degree and chartered, or significantly progressed on your journey in pursuing qualification with ICE, IEI, CIWEM or IoW.
An excellent understanding of Asset Management and / or Design within the Water Industry.
A proven and demonstrable background of delivering water, wastewater and/or drainage projects to a high standard.
A full UK or Irish Driving License is advantageous.
Good presentation, written and verbal communication skills in English.
The ability to work on your own initiative on technical matters and provide support to others within the team.
Good IT skills are paramount, as well as the ability to learn and use bespoke engineering software (GIS and/or design packages).
Client facing experience, so professionalism and excellent communication skills are a must
