About the role
Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a SENIOR ENGINEER TRACK to join our Rail team to work in Crawley.
Working on the Thameslink Programme, one of the most complex challenging programmes of work on Network Rail infrastructure at present. Specifically as part of the Track Team, delivering works in and around London Bridge Station. Actively manage and be responsible for the Engineering delivery and compliance of assigned Track stageworks (Plain Line + S&C) to scope and budget ensuring that all safety, quality and environmental requirements are satisfied. Co-ordinate works to align with other delivery partners to ensure Major Civils, Signalling Civils, Signalling, Electrification and Structure Strengthening Programmesare all maintained to the benefit of the overall Thameslink KO2 Project.
What you'll be doing
As a SENIOR ENGINEER TRACK, you will have the following accountabilities:
Ensure Projects are planned, delivered to high engineering standards, and fully compliant to enable delivery and timely hand back
Lead the engineering delivery team
Produce time/chainage and bar chart programmes aided by staging diagrams for core work activities
Produce train matrix planning for stageworks using spoil and ballast calculations
Production of eWPP & Mitigation plans for stageworks, in particular activities that include track removal excavation, re-ballasting, track replacement and tamping & stressing
Effectively communicate the work plan producing ‘White Board Briefings’
Plan within budgetary constraints resource, materials & equipment requirements
Manage & co-ordinate the project delivery engineering team effectively and roster resource (internal & external) appropriately to deliver the project requirements
Liaise with wider business to best utilise company resources
Plan and optimise the work on a day to day basis
Management of Critical Rail Temperatures (CRT) on all allocated sites
Attend Technical liaison meetings (PDR) and conduct onwards briefing of technical requirements
Manage the effective setting out of the renewal installation including the use of 3D control methods
Manage the engineering compliance of core renewals with the result of achieving acceptable levels of Track Quality
Monitor the accurate and consistent recording and delivery of the as-built details
Who we're looking for
You will have the following qualities and experience:
Minimum Degree/HND Level in Civil Engineering or equivalent
In-depth knowledge of P-Way design ,3D surveying and setting out
Up-to-date knowledge of latest plant and equipment
Proficient knowledge of project planning
Broad on-site experience
Safe systems of work
Knowledge of ISO quality systems
CDM Regulations awareness
Computer proficient in Microsoft Package
