WSP is seeking an enthusiastic at an assistant engineers and engineers to join the team within our integrated WSP / Lincolnshire County Council Design Consultancy, based in the City of Lincoln.
Your role will be at the heart of our high performing drainage team which enable the County Council to fulfil its duties as the Lead Local Flood Authority and Highway authority. You will develop you skills and expertise to help us continue driving forward in terms of both technical excellence and service efficiency, delivering high quality solutions on time and within budget.
Our long term contract with Lincolnshire County Council has been in place since 2010. You will have the chance to join the integrated Drainage team, comprising WSP and LCC Staff, working within a positive and upbeat environment. The successful candidate would be engaged within team who have recently secured the new commission of a minimum of 6 years.
A typical week would include:
Undertaking investigations, site inspections, data collection and analysis, scheme design and development;
Proposing technical solutions in accordance with approved design procedures;
Preparing technical documents and drawings for checking and approval;
Guiding junior team members and provide day-to-day support;
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
A good working knowledge of and experience in drainage, flood defence along with an understanding of Flood Risk management;
Graduate or HNC + Eng Tech and preferably I Eng.
Data analysis skills – interpolating and combining various forms of data;
Strong communication skills and are able to talk to various parties including home owners and other Risk Management Authorities;
Knowledge of risk and probability;
