The Regional Delivery Partnership is a framework contract with Highways England for the development, design and construction of capital road projects that form part of the Regional Investment Programme during Road Period 1 (2015 to 2020) and Road Period 2 (2020 to 2025). The Costain Jacobs Partnership were awarded two lots; Lot 7 (East Region) & Lot 8 (North Region) for the delivery of packages of work with an estimated value over £100m.
This vacancy relates to Lot 8 for the delivery of 3 schemes along the A1 corridor in Newcastle and Northumberland. The purpose of the role is to support the day to day deployment of our integrated lean deployment approach at scheme level.
The intention will be that this role is generally carried out from the North East at our Hub located in Blaydon, Newcastle, however some remote working will also be possible, particularly during the current climate.

What will I be doing?:
Working with engineers, project managers, lean and efficiency champions, and suppliers to improve project delivery through lean interventions, gathering data and proactively identifying opportunities for process improvement
Instilling a lean and collaborative culture within the team through targeted training and support
Collating and providing ‘performance observation’ information such that it can be used to aid in the identification of key areas to target for performance improvement
Reporting any operational efficiency to the efficiency manager on any improvements
Supporting the progression of the Andon system and managing the feedback of performance data to the team in a clear and consistent form
Experience in continuous improvement with an understanding of the DMAICT methodology and a variety of root cause analysis tools
Interest in and an eagerness to learn in both lean and technology
A clear understanding of lean tools to deliver lean projects, innovations and efficiencies
Ability to analyse and trend data using Microsoft applications
Ability to identify, drive and deliver business improvement
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Ability to communicate effectively with people from graduate to senior management levels
Ability to write and present clear, concise documents to high standard while conveying information to people clearly
Ability to manage and deliver facilitation of sessions, giving presentations and in the longer-term coaching teams and individuals
