The Implementation Engineer will work with the Infrastructure Design & Implementation Manager to build and deploy IT Services and Solutions in an efficient, effective and cost-effective way. The Implementation Engineer will ensure that solutions designs are fully documented, implemented and ensure correct hand-over to IT Operations. Their aim would be automate build to ensure swift and accurate translation of design to build.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Working with the Infrastructure Architects to review service designs and prepare implementation plans
Installing and configuring pilots or proof of concepts as necessary
Following standard policies and procedures, deploy solutions as per the implementation plan and communicate progress to the Implementation Manager & Delivery Manager
Informing IT Operations of any system or procedural flaws discovered during day-to-day activity
Liaising with IT Operations to ensure on-going support requirements are understood and identify and assist with any knowledge gaps within the Infrastructure Team.

To be successful in this role you should:
Have excellent communication skills, showing accuracy and an attention to detail
Have experience of ITIL (essential)
Have knowledge of the relevant Communisis processes and procedures
Have awareness of ISO & Quality Standards
Be able to apply and document controls in accordance with best practices for server environments
Have the ability and desire to learn new technologies.
Have expert build knowledge of the latest Windows Server operating systems with an excellent working knowledge of Active Directory, Terminal Services, ISAs etc…
Have expert build knowledge of Linux operating systems (e.g. Red Hat, CentOS)
Have a good working knowledge of virtual machines and their deployment (preferably VMWare VSphere/View)
Have knowledge of Blade Server and SAN technologies (desirable)
Have in-depth knowledge of all aspects of TCP/IP networking including, but not limited to, BGP, OSPF, DNS, DHCP, AD, Load Balancers
Have knowledge of security considerations for complex networks, including technically sound policies for secure usage. Knowledge of firewalls, anti-virus, encryption algorithms, security protocols, monitoring tools and backup tools.
Have understanding of Data Transfer protocols including, but not limited to, Connect:Direct, SFTP, FTP, FTPS, SSH, HTTPS,.
