At Electricity North West our Network Management Hub is responsible for carrying out real time monitoring and control of our electricity distribution network.
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Dispatcher to join the Dispatch team in Manchester who are responsible for carrying out the live updates of interruptions and potential hazards to the distribution network and co-ordinate the repairs and subsequent reporting of these activities.
Day to day you will:
Actively monitor the LV fault inferencing process, ensuring that faults are dispatched to the appropriate staff in a timely manner;
Collate information from systems and staff in order to enable provisions of regulatory and internal network performance reports (Outage Notes);
Make sure there is an accurate flow of information between field based staff and the customer contact centre;
Update faults with accurate and timely information for customers to maximise customer satisfaction levels;
Dispatch work to field staff providing all the required information for them to begin site based triage, restoration and repair activities in line with the hub dispatch process;
Provide non-operational telephony support to HV Control Engineers;
Create innovative ideas and suggestions, to help improve the performance and efficiency within the business;
Update and maintain Network Management Hub systems with Kit availability and locations.
As the successful candidate you must be able to work flexibly on a shift working basis that covers 24 hours a day.

Proven experience in work associated with the support of operational sections and systems;
Advanced IT skills in Windows Operating System (essential);
The ability to think and act logically under pressure;
Great communication skills with the ability to influence people at all levels;
A customer focussed approach;
A high regard for safety management.
We would also like to hear from you if you have:
An excellent understanding of fault processes within electricity distribution (desirable);
A good understanding of the low voltage restoration process (desirable);
An understanding of regulatory and industry standards within electricity distribution (desirable);
Knowledge of Operational IT systems including CRMS, TMS, NAFIRS, LVFI and Geofield (desirable).
