Duties / Responsibilities (Including Objectives of the role):
As Senior Engineer - EMC, you'll play a key part in developing and bringing to market the next generation of Lotus Cars products. We're growing our EMC capabilities in line with our drive towards new technologies integrated within our new line of High Performance Sports Cars.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include;
Lead EMC Validation and sign-off activity within EEI and support T&D team for vehicle level EMC testing.
Contribute to, write and approve technical specifications (requirements and test methods) for EMC compliance to various market standards
Support definition and development and validation processes for EMC.
Manage daily workload for all development work for associated functions.
Ensure electrical and electronic parts are identified for EMC and proper validation and assessments carried out leading to sign-off
Ensure the technical operation of electrical and electronic engineering EMC work within overall programme requirements.
Ensure professional relationships with our suppliers, including selection and management in relevant areas.
Support the Principle Engineer - EEI with development and validation activities as appropriate.
You will also manage EMC technical delivery according to the New Product Delivery System, supporting the project team with gateway deliverables according to Vehicle Project Plans (VPP).
As a technical expert, you will also;
Provide guidance to CAD team to ensure that wiring and electrical hardware are correctly located and packaged in accordance with installation, environmental and EMC requirements.
Lead Corrective & Preventive action and resolution during development and manage issues to closure.
Investigate continuous improvement opportunities to improve the functional and technical performance, increase quality, and reduce weight, cost and time to market of Electrical Distribution Systems.
Keep up-to-date with industry developments in area of responsibility.
Qualifications and Experience (Essential & Desirable criteria)
Qualifications and Experiences:
Engineering degree or equivalent
Experience in an automotive OEM or Tier 1 supplier
Experience in Automotive Electronic Architecture
Experience in EMC Testing
Good time management.
Good communication skills.
Demonstrate strong customer, team focus
Ability to work effectively and calmly under pressure and tight deadlines
