John Crane is currently recruiting a Reliability Engineer to be based in Slough on a permanent basis.
An engineering position supporting gas seal internal and external customers in all technical aspects inclusive of design, manufacture, build, test and field operation in order to ensure maximum product reliability. You will field technical questions relating to product reliability at various customer levels and disciplines including the support of our service network and carry out thorough technical investigations with factual reports detailing the process, results and reliability recommendations.
This position will suit an engineer with an excellent mechanical background and a passion for problem solving, a clear communicator and team member. Any previous experience in root cause analysis and associated techniques will prove advantageous.

Duties and Responsibilities
Engineering responsible for carrying out technical investigations for dry gas seal failures.
Ability to provide technical solutions to field problems.
Compilation of detailed engineering reports.
Constantly maintaining the company’s professional image via effective communication.
Responsible for internal and external co-ordination cross-functionally in line with project requirements.
Able to create and work to a plan, delivering on time and to expectations.
Utilising project planning strategies to ensure stakeholder are apprised of project progress.
Timely support of customers in relation to technical needs of their equipment.
Establish and maintain relationships with customers supporting on technical queries.
Required Skills and Experience
Mechanical Engineering background.
Experience with Rotating Equipment would be an advantage.
Understanding of compressor operating theory would be an advantage.
Experience of technical report writing with presentation skills.
Ability to read P&ID and General Arrangement Drawings.
Awareness and general knowledge of controls, control systems and instrumentation.
Gas Analysis and phase behaviour of fluids as an advantage.
Experience with failure analysis and RCA techniques is a strong advantage.
Willingness to travel globally to support project requirements.
Ability to work independently and drive team goals.
Ability to conduct and lead meetings at a various levels.
Familiar with stakeholder management.
Excellent communication skills.
