Planning and Scheduling Manager – Utility & Wind

We are now recruiting for a Planning and Scheduling Manager to assume responsibility for the line management, welfare and development of a group of utility & wind focused pilots; efficient scheduling, planning, logistics and delivery to deadline and budget of utility & wind projects; to manage all HSE matters arising from the projects.
In addition to this as our Planning and Scheduling Manager you will be responsible for:
Communication and people
Support field teams to remove roadblocks and allow them to do their job more easily whenever it is required, including being first point of contact at weekends and evenings as required
Lead & manage a team of pilots focusing on their development, progression and welfare, including monthly 1-2-1s and annual appraisals.
Communicate schedule and requirements of projects to field teams on a regular basis
Work collaboratively with the Utility & Wind Technical Manager and Utility & Wind Leads to ensure alignment on project deliverables
Work collaboratively with the other Planning Managers to ensure best use of people and equipment to achieve project deliverables in best manner possible for the company
Work collaboratively with the corresponding Sales Manager to schedule projects
Manage communications with the client to ensure clear scheduling of projects
Lead the recruitment of utility & wind pilots
Provide Leadership Team and key stakeholders with scheduling updates on projects
Client Relations
Throughout the project ensure both sales and clients are appraised of project progress and any delays.
HSE
Ensure Risk Assessment and Method Statements (RAMS) are completed to a high standard for every project
Lead investigation of Safety incidents and report with recommendations
Planning
Develop and manage detailed project schedule and resource requirements
Track projects/campaigns and take necessary actions to ensure they remain on track.
Work with Utility & Wind technical manager to ensure technical delivery to required quality
Work with other Planning Managers to ensure best use of shared pilot and equipment resources
Secure flight permissions as required for projects
Liaise with landowners to ensure access to inspection sites
Liaise with the Aviation Team to ensure correct equipment is available for all projects.
Ensure all equipment is appropriately allocated and logistics is organised for every project
Ensure all work packs are created for every project and accurate
Ensure projects are executed to budget and deadlines
Represent Cyberhawk at client planning meetings and other external meetings as required.
Ensure that teams are authorised and have undertaken the required client training in order to execute the project scope.
Quality and continuous improvement:
Manage project close-out processes and manage multi-disciplinary lessons-learned review to drive continuous improvement across all projects.
Implement Cyberhawk Project Management methodology for each project
Maintain the following Accreditations – ISO9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO27001
Drive efficiency improvements in department especially around data collection
Drive efficiencies in planning department and processes including digitisation
In order to be successful in this role, you should have:
An engineering background or qualification (preferred)
A drone pilot qualification (preferred)
Previous experience in a similar planning, scheduling management role.
Experience with managing, encouraging and supporting a field-based team.
Strong people management skills
Strong organisational and project management skills
Knowledge of commercial drone operations
Strong HSE background
Knowledge of utility & wind industries
Knowledge of inspection techniques
Experience of working in multiple cultures and in different time zones
Strong Microsoft Office skills
Good attention to detail
