WHAT TO EXPECT
Dimensional Systems are responsible for all elements of Dimensional Quality, such as Dimensional Variation Analysis (DVA) of product design, defining and delivering the Measurement and Metrology strategy, through to quality Maturation of new vehicles throughout a product launch. Dimensional systems operate from firsts concepts of a vehicle programme, through to the initial 3 months of mass production.
As an Engineer in the Dimensional System Ecube team, you will be responsible for supporting the E-Cube media design and manufacture phases and then plan and coordinate the E-Cube build activities for new models.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
Translation of high-level timing plans into day by day working documents to support the build events. Develop clear and concise day by day build plans and monitor delivery against plan, identifying catch back strategies if required.
Manage the planning and coordination of E-Cube build events to support T&F component maturation activities.
Support and input to design reviews on media to ensure required functionality is provided.
Coordinate cross functional teams to deliver required project deliverables.
Identification and securing of all resource required to support the published build plans
Generate E-Cube event metrics and reports in line with the generic templates
Interface with engineering teams at all levels to coordinate and manage the activity plan on the ECube and provide any support necessary to the team
Provide feedback to programme on project status (e.g. night letters / programme status sheets / presentation material)
Identification and recording of all issues found during the build events, including raising AIMS where appropriate.
Identification and recording of all E-Cube property issues for feedback to E-Cube vendor / Dimensional Control Media team.
Support the development of standard specification for component maturation hardware
Support the implementation and monitoring of the department's compliance with corporate initiatives / Standards (TS16949, ISO 14001, etc.)
Support functional responses for Launch reviews, Gateway Reviews, Product Development Letters, and other functional activities
WHAT YOU NEED
You’ll have a good general understanding of Manufacturing Processes. You’ll have demonstrable evidence of problem-solving skills and abilities. You’ll be an effective Communicator; Verbal and Written, with the ability to manage stakeholder expectations. You’ll have good IT skills and the ability to use Microsoft packages (including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. You’ll have the capability to combine a short term, pragmatic focus with medium term planning, along with being resilient and enthusiastic and able to respond constructively to new ideas and inputs.
