You will join our Energy department

As our new Graduate Engineer, you will be part of a dynamic and growing team, learning about technical design and other aspects of Engineering. Our UK team sits within the Ramboll’s Global Energy business and comprises 22 engineers and consultants based in four locations; London, Edinburgh, Manchester and Bristol. Our team’s market focus is the UK district heating and district cooling sector. The UK’s District Heating sector is projected to grow significantly in response to national targets to decarbonise heat generation. Ramboll plays a key role in helping drive this in the UK, as well as being worldwide thought leaders in this field. We also work on international district heating and district cooling projects in collaboration with our Energy Systems team colleagues in Denmark as well as Ramboll’s UK, North American and other international businesses. Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:
Work and develop skills in District Energy Engineering Design by:
Assist the team with identifying engineering design solutions to our client’s problems
Carry out engineering calculation and computational analysis
Create engineering drawings and sketches, working with the team to communicate our solutions effectively
Work within a team under supervision by Engineers and Senior Engineers and assist the team in their daily work as required
Work in multi-disciplinary teams with clients, developers, project managers, architects, structural engineers, civil engineers, environmental consultants, fire specialists and acousticians.
Contribute and get involved with local, national and international projects
Follow the company training scheme, fulfilling objectives to assist personal development and provide a basis for future progression within the company
Contribute to Ramboll culture and values, participating in team and company socials

Good relevant degree accredited by the Engineering Council - minimum 2:1 and above – in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering and/or Master’s Degree in Renewable or Sustainable Energy
Be an excellent communicator capable of explaining complex engineering principles in plain language, both verbally and in writing
Proven and competent in the subject matter of the assignment and able to work independently with intermittent supervision
Be proactive in addressing problem issues, presenting and pushing solutions
Ability to organise and conduct several activities simultaneously
Build relationships with individuals from other organisations
Have an interest in district energy engineering and addressing climate change.
Familiar with a range of engineering software including ArcGIS, Energy Pro, System Rornet (hydraulic design software) and other proprietary tools and excel models.

Personal qualities that will help you succeed in this role include: a willingness to learn and develop as you kick start your career in Energy engineering, and excellent communication skills to work dynamically within our team of experts.
