Trainee Civil Engineer – Degree Apprenticeship - 2020 – Cambridgeshire

Joining Skanska Infrastructure Services as a Trainee Civil Engineer, you will gain practical experience in our design, project management, construction and operations teams. You will be part of the efforts to keep Cambridgeshire moving.
What you’ll learn to do:
You’ll work in various teams to support the design and planning of a range of highway & bridge maintenance, asset management, and highway improvement projects
Assist with undertaking site visits, surveys and investigations
Prepare scheme designs, drawings and documents using a range of design software
Be involved in supervising the construction of our highways projects and our 24/7 maintenance of the highway network
Gain experience in a range of software and digital engineering tools to enhance the way we operate and share information with our client
Develop a practical understanding of the importance of health, safety & wellbeing and caring for the environment
Assist with asset management activities to help our client in maintaining the highway network safely and efficiently
Assist with communication to the public and other stakeholders affected by our projects
What we offer:
Through release to Anglia Ruskin University, Skanska will provide support and funding to help you achieve a Level 6-degree (BEng or BSc) qualification in Civil Engineering
Support to achieve Incorporated Engineer member status with the Institution of Civil engineers

Who you are:
Keen interest in engineering and/or STEM-related subjects
Studying to achieve or having achieved 96 UCAS points (under the new tariff) plus Maths and English at GCSE (grade C/level 4 or above). One of your A level (or equivalent) subjects will ideally be Maths.
Someone who enjoys practical problem solving and researching innovative ideas
You must be able to obtain a full UK driving licence within 1 year of joining us
Start date: End of August 2020
