We have an opportunity for a Level 3 Apprentice Utilities Technician to join our award-winning programme in Taunton starting in Summer/Autumn 2020. As an Apprentice at Stantec, you will be part of an industry leading programme designed to develop the best Engineers. We will pair you with an experienced engineer who will guide and mentor you through the initial phase of your career. You’ll be involved in the design and delivery of some of our projects from start to finish. We will teach you how to use programs such as Computer Aided Design (CAD) to produce drawings for utilities projects. You will learn technical skills such as civil engineering calculations and report writing. You will sit within a Utilities team that provides end-to-end utility solutions from masterplanning guidance and development of utility strategies, through to project managing infrastructure provision.
The great thing about an apprenticeship is that you’ll be earning a salary straight away whilst getting your education paid for. You’ll get the chance to expand your knowledge by attending the university one day a week on day release, while simultaneously learning from our industry experts on the job.
At the end of your apprenticeship, you’ll come out with a professional qualification along with invaluable experience.
No previous experience is required. You will be a positive and proactive team player who demonstrates enthusiasm for engineering and a willingness to apply yourself in a workplace environment
Here are the general skills we look for in our apprentices:
5x GCSEs including a minimum of 5 or above in Maths and English.
A keen interest in Engineering or Utilities.
A good level of computer literacy including MS Office.
Good communication skills.
