Location: Oxygen House, Exeter
Your work will cover the Oxygen House building in Exeter and other sites in our portfolio, which are mainly local. Ordinarily, your base will be Oxygen House, where you'll enjoy a great working environment, with a number of onsite facilities, community events and activities. However, due to the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and associated safety measures, there may initially be a blend of office-based and home working.
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

This new role will be employed by Oxygen House Limited, which acts as a service provider for the group companies, providing services such as Finance, HR, IT, Catering and Facilities Management.
We're looking for an experienced Technical Services Engineer to join our Facilities team, working closely with our Facilities Manager to promote, support and develop our technical service for our group companies and users.
You can expect to use your deep knowledge and experience of managing complex and bespoke mechanical and electrical plant and will be responsible for proactively managing the systems, identifying risks and opportunities and carrying out life cycle projects to ensure we are operationally and energy efficient, with a dual focus on lowering our carbon footprint and providing exceptional support to our team in order to create an amazing workplace for our businesses to operate from.
You will have a key role in managing our supply chain to ensure that our statutory obligations are met and to seek out innovative and effective solutions or support interventions that improve our customers’ experience.
You will liaise with existing users of our building portfolio to develop a clear understanding of the current operation and build strong relationships. We’re looking for an excellent communicator who can build strong relationships with a range of stakeholders.
You will also manage energy use, in line with our sustainable and environmentally sensitive approach and low carbon business agenda together with the delivery of a proactive maintenance strategy which amongst other things, minimises reactive and ad-hoc requirements.

An excellent communicator with great emotional intelligence
An ability to build strong relationships with a wide range of people/customers at different levels
Previous experience and proven track record of working in a building facilities / office services department
Relevant technical qualification (Electrical / mechanical / refrigerant to at least NVQ level 3
Project management experience: evidence of ability to deliver projects on budget and agreed time scales
Strong business operational focus; agility in managing complex business and stakeholder requirements
Good knowledge of electrical engineering, air conditioning systems, water systems and gas systems
Experience of health & safety management (IOSH/NEBOSH qualified or with equivalent professional experience)
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think outside of the box/norm
Highly organised with the ability to multi-task
PC literate with PowerPoint, Excel, Access and Word skills
IWFM would be desirable but not essential
