WHAT TO EXPECT
Dimensional Maturation and Build Integrity (DMBI) are responsible for all elements of Dimensional Quality, including Dimensional Variation Analysis (DVA) of product design, defining and delivering the Measurement and Metrology strategy, through to quality Maturation of new vehicles throughout a product launch. DMBI operate from firsts concepts of a vehicle programme, through to the initial 3 months of mass production.
As a Dimensional Variation Analysis (DVA) Engineer you will support the development and delivery of new vehicles into production. Responsibilities of the DVA team includes analysing the entitlement to deliver Interior and Exterior Fit and Finish (Customer Driven Vehicle Requirements - CDVRs), as well as assessing the product for Manufacturing feasibility and delivery of Product Engineering (PE) design rules and specifications.
100% conformance to adhoc study requests target date
Update, as per minimum frequency per programme gateway, the DVA status of each CDVR assessment within PQ database up until FDJ
Identify and implement 1 Kaizan improvement per month.
Support their Lead Engineer or Line Manager in programme meetings where applicable
Liaise with colleagues in other department / disciplines
Identify technical issues and escalate where appropriate
Undertake any other work as directed by their Lead Engineer or Line Manager in connection with their job as may be requested from time to time
Support the product development to enable a capable Body Structure assembly process
Assess Dimensional System entitlement to achieve and deliver tolerance and capability targets
Assess and support development of Fit and Finish requirements (CDVRs)
Deliver adhoc studies requests in a timely manner to target date
Adhere to DVA processes
Suggest efficiency and model accuracy improvements
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
General Understanding of Manufacturing Processes
Effective Communicator; Verbal and Written
Problem Solving Skills
Experience using DVA tools/software (ideally 3DCS and/or VisVSA)
Basic understanding of GD&T (Geometric, Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
Basic understanding of part/assembly Location Strategy Principals
General understanding of Automotive Manufacturing Processes (ideally BiW – Body-in-White)
Six Sigma Training
CAD Skills – Catia V5/V6
