To provide Lear Engineering representation and build support at the customer manufacturing facility.
Responsibility to provide engineering liaison to the customer for Lear EDS products. Control of issue resolution and change control to ensure continued vehicle production. Investigation and review robustness of current Engineering practices, tools and processes.
Working alongside the EDS Engineering team, reporting to the Launch Team Leader.
List of Responsibilities:
Participation / presentation at Customer Launch Reviews.
Detail Design / Issue resolution / Tracker updates/ Continuous Improvement, Documenting in change control documents and rework instructions.
Change Control (Understanding latest level parts) Ensure that the carry over parts are released in the BOM. Control and release of end items. Ensure part ordering in time for the build.
Understand timing milestones and ensure Lear activities in the Customer Plant align. Coordinate and deliver the prototype phase exit plan in line with project timing.
Attend/ support “start up” and “wash up” meetings for the build, plus attend customer issue meetings. Take away issues and provide responses in required time.
Represent and protect Lear interests at Customer reviews / meetings / Track side issues.
Liaison with the wider engineering team and manufacturing plant to ensure issue resolution & any design tool updates to protect future builds
Support Launch Manager & Lear Quality Liaison to ensure all issues are resolved in a timely manner.
Liaison with Rework Co-ordinator for implementation timing feedback to customer.
“Deep Dive” investigation into build issues to provide future design robustness. Feed back into any required “Lessons learnt”.
Issue, Change Management & Release processes.
Quality tools such as APQP, DFMEA, 8D
Ability to read and use engineering specifications & drawings
Understanding of Harness Complexity.
Harness Rework Experience
