Job Description: Configuration and Design Data Management - Engineer

The Configuration and Design data management team controls Design product structure configuration for the incorporation of a Bill Of Material (BOM) in order to aid Engine delivery for Civil Large Engines, serving new product Introduction (NPI) and Fleet Programmes.
Understanding the design change by referring to Design Definition Reports, Pipe Routing, Scheme drawings and Design Assembly Part models.
Implementing the design change into the Configuration bill of material using itemising guide and incorporating the same Product data management and Definitions in customer tools as per the Air Transport Agency (ATA) publication standards.
Verifying design Documents for correctness as per the guidelines Mandated by Customer.
Co-ordinating Configuration queries between Design and Configuration.
Updating necessary customer trackers.
EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS (ESSENTIAL TO CARRY OUT THIS ROLE)
An understanding of Aero- Engine Publications.
An understanding of Assembly and sub-assembly parts relationship.
Degree level qualification in an engineering (or equivalent subject).
Basic understanding of Civil Large Engines product
Basic Engine familiarisation, Maintenance and overhaul knowledge
Knowledge of Unigraphics /NX.
Entry Level Project Management Experience.
Degree level qualification in an engineering (or equivalent)subject preferably Mechanical, Aerospace or Automotive groups.
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES (ESSENTIAL TO CARRY OUT THIS ROLE)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a high level of numeracy.
Excellent Computer Literacy with experience of using Microsoft Office tools
Ability to communicate effectively with customers and a diverse staff population.
Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality with proprietary information.
Must be confident, resourceful, highly organised and be able to work with little direct intervention
Self-starter able to work well within a large team
