A fantastic opportunity for a motivated software developer to join an established international floor surveying & construction company who is willing to invest in you. We design and manufacture much of our own surveying kit and are looking to expand our team.
A basic experience in programming is required and a lot of self learning will be involved in the position. We are seeking someone with a keen interest in programming who has some experience perhaps previous employment or even a hobby. A computer science degree is not required (we favour practical over theoretical) but welcome if you happen to have one.
You will have significant control over your projects, right through from the planning, design, development and testing stages. You will also be expected to propose projects you believe are needed and give your input and advice on software we currently have during regular meetings with the engineering department in which the successful candidate will work.
You will be involved in developing cutting edge software for our in-house developed measuring devices, ranging from PC software, smart phone applications and even writing firmware for the devices themselves. Primary languages are Java and C# (desktop applications), Java (Android) and C (embedded firmware). The ability to reverse engineer existing source code is beneficial as well as ability to write software from scratch.

Skills, experience and qualifications in any of the following is beneficial:
Java (PC Desktop & Android Smartphone)
Degree or equivalent experience
Any experience in the following areas would also be an advantage:
Interest/Knowledge of electronics.
Basic understanding of maths and statistics (with Excel).
Handling support issues.
Dealing with office documents and technologies (Word, Excel, Databases etc).
