Quality Resident Engineer

We are currently recruiting for permanent Quality Resident Engineer to be based in our Castle Bromwich customer site (travel to other customer and Yazaki sites will be required). The main focus of the role is to coordinate and follow up with the quality activities of the Program and report and record any quality concerns found on any parts supplied by Yazaki.
Provide the total quality liaison function.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Supporting and reporting to the Quality Project Manager
First point of contact for communication between customers’ assembly plant and Yazaki.
Report and record all quality concerns found on Yazaki parts at the customers’ assembly plant
Receive, communicate and monitor customer concerns
Collate data and report on concerns between the customer and Yazaki
Coordinate and track 8D corrective action process
Communicate with Yazaki manufacturing plants to request and follow up on outstanding actions
Support Yazaki Project Management System and other APQP activities where required
Provide support for engineering activities within the customer plant
Immediately report any major concerns and roadblocks to Management
Check manpower requirements for any in customer plant activities
Manage and coordinate all reworking activities
Support and manage the Quality Technicians and Adhoc agency staff
Ensuring that all Adhoc agency staff are fully trained
Capturing cost implications that occur as a result of extra ordinary quality support activities
Minimum of Grade C GCSE or Equiv. Maths and English
Previous experience with wiring harnesses
Broad and varied years of experience, working within a Quality Function
Experience of vehicle assembly process
Working knowledge of APQP, Global 8D, PPAP, SPC, CPK, Taguchi, Ishikawa, Poke-Yoke, Kaizen and 6 Sigma processes
Good working knowledge of MS Office products including Excel and PowerPoint
Excellent communication skills and dealing with Conflict
Focus on Results and taken Ownership & Initiative to manage
Previous experience of dealing with Complexity
Fluent in English
UK or equivalent Driving Licence and car
Right to work in the UK - valid Passport
Able to undertake Domestic and International travel with overnight stays away from home
