Lumentum is looking for an intern that will join an experienced and growing engineering team and will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of transmitters, receivers and modules for optical communications systems.
The role will involve input to the design and build of the products, verification of prototype performance against customer specifications and working with the NPI and manufacturing teams to introduce the product to
manufacture. You will work closely with other members of the design team, including Optical and Electronic Engineers, Test and Process Development Engineers and the product qualification team to deliver cost effective
solutions in a timely manner.
The range of activities will be varied and provide a great insight into different aspects of developing high tech products which are the backbone of the Internet.
You will have completed a minimum of the first two years of an undergraduate degree or equivalent and be looking to gain valuable experience from the workplace before returning to University to complete their
studies. You should be studying a technical degree such as: Physics, Optics, Communications, or equivalent and have an interest in the optical communications field.
Knowledge of optical/electronic components and their applications
Practical measurement techniques/experiments, data correlation and results analysis
Demonstrate that you are capable of working within a team environment.
Strong interpersonal communications skills will be a great benefit.
This position is for a fixed term of 12 months.
