Altran are recruiting for a quality engineer to undertake a role within the Telecom sector, based at one of our prestigious client’s sites in the Newbury area.
The quality engineer will support the sites drive to zero defects and also its Defects per unit (DPU) reduction program.
Our customers’ expectations are high as such we are looking for adaptable driven people to deliver on time and to exceed the required quality levels.
You will possess creative problem-solving skills in a team environment and be comfortable with communicating clearly and efficiently throughout the varying levels of both the customers and Altran’s businesses.

The Quality Engineers role is responsible for:
Working with customers and internal teams to ensure operational and service excellence is delivered and maintained.
Provide effective support services across all clients both onsite and off-site to ensure that SLAs are not breached.
Knowledge and application of TCMT for the incidents raised towards the test environment, including the Level 1 support.
Develop and run damage awareness briefings for team meetings
KPI reporting including data preparation and consolidation.
Ensuring the required environment for testing and troubleshoot system problems on See-Test tool for offshore team.
Exclusively interact with various stakeholders to discuss the short and long-term goals.
Monitor adherence to rules, regulations and procedures to improve processes and policies in support of organisational goals
Managing audit and surveillance activities for the services being performed for the esteemed customers.
Expert in Quality Assurance and represent a single point of contact for quality of the deliverables
Flexible to proactively perform any other reasonable duties consistent with the role as required
Experience and Knowledge
Proactive approach and the ability to work under your own initiative.
6 Sigma experience – Green belt preferred.
Experience of using process mapping techniques.
Ability to collect and analyse data from a variety of different sources.
Understanding of Network architecture 2G/3G and 4G preferred.
Understanding and application of lean techniques and processes.
Passion to drive change in a challenging environment and the ability to solve complex problems
Working knowledge of systems including TCMT, See-Test, ENM, U2020 preferred.
Additional Experience and Skills:
Experience in leading the development of customer/supplier relationships.
Visual inspection techniques.
DMAIC, 8D, PPAP, PFMEA, DFM, SPC, 6M.
Cause & Effect Analysis - 3Cs, 5 Whys, Ishikawa.
