The purpose of this job is supervision, administration and instrument calibration for the Work Rolls Heat Treatment Department.
As Heat Treatment Engineer you will supervise the Work Rolls Heat Treatment Department.
The main duties of the role are as follows:
Promote and communicate positive safety culture
Planning & organising daily production schedule– issue job instructions, furnace cards
Organise cover for holidays/absence etc
Inform wages of any variations each week.
Issue permits to work for any haz ops in area.
Facilitate continuous improvement activities within the department
Produce treatment cards for high temper/classical work
Maintain furnace & testing card record system
Use of Mestec/Orchestrate/Epicor labour booking and scheduling systems
Ordering - nitrogen, gaskets, thermocouples etc. using IESA and Epicor E10 systems
Organising coil repairs
Legionella competent person
Liaise with Suez, ensuring daily/weekly checks /flushing carried out.
Organising maintenance work through Spidex PPM system
Black body furnace
Service/repair/calibration of penetrascopes and equotips
Repair/Re-programming furnace controllers
Organise repairs – e.g. burners, refractories
Attaching Load thermocouples for special jobs
Candidates must have:
Thorough understanding of Health & Safety Regulations and Procedures
Positive attitude towards safety culture
Instrument calibration techniques
Strong IT skills – email, word, excel, ERP
Previous experience in a heat treatment environment
Previous supervisory experience
Excellent communication and team working skills
Must be capable of working individually and as part of a team
Strong problem solving ability and initiative
Flexible, positive attitude to work and production challenges
Our ideal candidate will also have:
Crane driving license
Counter balance Fork Lift Truck license
Previous experience of crane driving and slinging
Experience in operating Fork Lift Truck (Counterbalance) & Reach Truck
Days/Hours of Work:
You will work 7:45-16:15 Monday to Thursday and 7:45-15:00 Friday.
This will equal to 37.5 hours per week.
