Lead Software Engineer (D&R Alert Triage)
Do you love solving complex problems with technology? Rapid7 is looking for a Lead Software Engineer with a proven track record of delivery to help build our cloud based product portfolio out of our Belfast office.
Working within our Detection and Response practice you will be working on building out the backend services of a brand new Case Management system based around Incident Alerts.
What you'll do:
Lead a team of 4-5 Engineers
Design and implement event driven cloud based services in AWS using technologies such as SQS/SNS, Serverless, ElasticSearch, REST API's
On top of a core Java based platform you will find yourself involved with new and emerging technologies, constantly solving complex problems
Show ability to self-start in a fast-paced environment
Contribute as a leader in a cross-functional scrum team in charge of delivering new features on a continuous basis using Agile methodologies
Ensure commitments are met throughout each iteration of work.
Take personal responsibility for the success of the team.
Help develop more junior staff
What you'll bring:
Minimum of 5 years experience in agile software development using Java ideally with Spring
Experience with AWS or other cloud hosting services
Experience building software with relational databases (such as Postgres).
Have been in a previous role providing mentorship and oversight to other engineers with your team
Comfortable driving new concepts/technologies to peers and management
Passionate about technology and solving complex business problems
Wants to continuously evolve their technical knowledge
Configuration/deployment tools such as Maven and Docker
Has worked in Agile with CI/CD development pipelines
Experience with source control preferably GIT
