We are seeking a Systems and Software Engineer to join a small, fast-moving team working to create advanced robot prototypes and products. For the right candidate, we offer an opportunity to help set the agenda and organize the systems and software development of our robotic platforms.
The ideal candidate has experience leading and participating in Systems Design, Implementation and Testing. Examples of excellent practical experience includes exposure to the full development lifecycle for cutting edge commercial robotics products.
The team’s engineers write software, conduct experiments, communicate results, give high-profile demonstrations and develop innovative solutions to new problems. We offer a relaxed but hardworking environment where individuals are recognised for their personal performance.
Main Purpose of the Job
Gather system requirements / user stories via stakeholders.
Define system and component architectures and interfaces.
Write system test plans and assist in validation testing.
Feedback verification and validation results into the system design.
Interface between software and hardware engineers to support the system design.
Ensure project documentation is correctly managed, maintained and released.
C++ software development.
Assist with the transition of new capabilities, technologies, and prototypes into a product development environment.
Support establishing HORIBA MIRA as the technical partner of choice for the development of autonomous off-highway technologies.
Industrial hands-on experience
Agile development processes
A senior member of, or leading, a team creating successful commercial products
Systems engineering processes from requirements capture through to design validation
Unreal, Unity or Gazebo simulator experience
Familiarity with Windows and GNU Linux
A relevant engineering, science degree or equivalent
Post graduate qualification in Software Engineering or Computer Science
Chartered status and member of a recognised professional institution
