Intertek’s Transportation Technologies laboratory network employs over 1000 staff in 28 labs in USA, Europe and East Asia, with a diverse portfolio of ATIC services for Automotive, Aerospace, Marine & Rail customers, which includes everything from automobiles, trucks and commercial vehicles, to aircraft, military vehicles, trains, marine vessels, motorcycles, lawn equipment, and more.
An opportunity has arisen for a full time, permanent Test Controls and Instrumentation (C&I) Engineer to work closely with Project Support, Facilities and Project Engineers in delivering controls and instrumentation engineering on complex automotive electric vehicle, hybrid, and combustion engine powertrain projects. The role holder will be responsible for designing, developing, installing, managing and maintaining mechanical/ electrical systems to enable Intertek to deliver industry leading services across two powertrain test facilities in Milton Keynes that are on time, on budget and exceed customer expectations.
The Test Controls and Instrumentation (C&I) Engineer will be based in Milton Keynes, a city at the forefront of electric vehicle infrastructure development, situated in the heart of the Oxford-Cambridge technology corridor and with great road and rail access between London and the Midlands. Milton Keynes and the local area also boast great leisure, retail and restaurant options. Normal working hours are 8am to 4:30pm Monday – Thursday, and 8am to 1pm Friday. Flexible working hours are required along with some additional overtime to support customer demands and deadlines.

IT Literacy (Microsoft packages) required to maintain clear and traceable documentation
Recognised mechanical/ electrical engineering qualification
Experience of working with Project Engineers to derive and deliver control and instrumentation technical requirements for customer projects
Able to provide instrumentation and control expertise for the specification of facilities and improvement initiatives
Experience of delivering planned tasks on time and on budget
Ability to be able to work with the Facilities team to maintain awareness of our growth strategy and implement customer driven change
Experience of working with QHSE to ensure Quality and H&S adherence at all times
Ability to liaise with colleagues, customers and suppliers in a professional manner at all time
