Would you like to be part of the Service Cost Team within BAE Shared Services? We currently have a vacancy for a Reporting Developer at our site in Preston.
As a Reporting Developer, you will be supporting the Business Planning and Service Cost team in the development and application of cost analysis and reporting systems in achieving and maintaining control over the cost recovery elements of the IBP. This is achieved by being responsible for the full systems lifecycle of the cost management applications and ensuring that any changes are implemented by following standard change processes and that they add value to the business process.
This role will provide you with the opportunity to make a difference in the toolset, you will collaborate with IT and Finance professionals within Enterprise IT Services and obtain exposure to the wider BAE Systems Business
Your main responsibilities as a Reporting Developer will involve:
Maintaining, changing and continuously improving the cost reporting model in Apptio.
Collecting, collating, quality assuring, transforming, uploading, validating and remediating monthly data uploads into Apptio
Ensuring no costs that need to be recovered are ‘lost’ through modelling
Ensuring best practice is reflected in the system from the Apptio community / TBM office
Developing any changes through Apptio as a result of taxonomy changes.
Developing and implementing the yearly updates required to enable Apptio to be accurate for the year ahead.
Working with stakeholders to ensure the data and reporting provided to end consumers is appropriate and useful
Working with projects / major changes to reflect them into Apptio
Working side by side with other members of the team to ensure continuity throughout the team and training other team members where necessary.
Working with data owners to assure all data is source with completeness, quality and timeliness
Your skills and qualifications:
Strong quantitative and analytical skills for financial modelling and analysis
Advanced analytical and data analysis skills
Ability to prioritise workload and demonstrate flexibility as priorities change at short notice.
Advanced /Expert level skills in Microsoft Excel, and be comfortable in operating IT systems generally.
Knowledge of IT services and financial management processes
Being analytical and able to manipulate large volumes of data and summarise in a clear and concise format for management
An understanding of Finance and budgeting processes
Proficiency in the use of the ServiceNow for IT requests, Coupa for requesting purchase orders and the SAP system.
Experience of working in the Apptio toolset
