We have an opportunity for a talented Project Facade Engineer with key focus in facade structures, secondary structures, and refurbishments of existing facades structures to join our Team in the United Kingdom.
The successful candidate will become a permanent member of our creative, friendly team and will work on some of the most exciting buildings in the world including international airports, high rise commercial and residential towers and international stadia.
You will be part of the UK façade consultancy team.
You will develop excellent structural facade solutions in collaboration with other facade specialist and see these through from concept to implementation.
You will be able to perform and check structural calculations, finite element analysis and simple hand calculation from first principles to complex nonlinear analyses
You will be part of the wider facade team developing facade design solutions in collaboration with other facade specialist on your projects from concept to implementation. It will include review and comment on detailed designs generated by specialist façade contractors. You will produce calculations, drawings, reports, and correspondence
You will work directly with our clients, architects, contractors and supply chain.
You will have multiple projects of different size running in parallel.
As well as undertaking design yourself, you will use your knowledge and experience to guide graduate team members.
You will produce drawings, reports, specifications and correspondence and helping senior engineer to manage resources and budget.
You will attend meetings and communicate with clients and design disciplines to establish their needs.
You will review technical submissions for compliance with design intent.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and talented Project Façade/Structural Engineer with excellent design, technical, and software skills who enjoys working collaboratively in multi-professional design teams, taking responsibility for projects from inception to completion to achieve outstanding results.
It is expected that you are working towards professional charter ship with appropriate experience in the field of Facade Engineering Systems.
You will be committed to your own professional development and looking for challenging work to develop your engineering skill.
Skills and Capabilities
Working towards to the Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with the Engineering Council via an appropriate professional institution such as the Institution of Civil Engineers or Institution of Structural Engineers
Completed portfolio of good mixture of small, medium to large scale projects.
Breadth of experience in facade design across a range of façade types
Good working knowledge of national and international design codes and technical guidance
Expert with CAD and 3D modelling softwares such as (Rhino)
Expert with Finite element and design packages (GSA, Strand 7, Tedds) , parametric design and scripting will be an advantage, (Grasshopper, python)
Eager to learn new façade materials and technologies
Strong technical and interpersonal skills
Versatile skillset including knowledge of detail design, structural and building physics, testing, inspections and investigations and site experience.
Ability to work under pressure and hit deadlines.
Ability to motivate individuals to work collaboratively as a team
Strong written and verbal communications skills
