The day job
You’ll be joining a team responsible for the paying of salaries, allowances and pensions to the UK Armed Forces and Veterans. This team also administer and pay compensation to injured service personnel, and run the associated technical infrastructure and applications. Part of the Joint Personnel Application (JPA) programme, it was implemented to modernise the way the Armed Services carry out personnel and pay administration.
The Data Team is responsible for cyclical rate changes on JPA, data fixes, the support of Reports for Management Information (MI) purposes and the data loading activities associated with refreshing the Virtual Training Environments. The team also encompasses the overall strategic MI capability, currently supported via OBIEE.
Maintain reference data within an Oracle EBS system
Manage and maintain live service data issues using the team’s incident management system
Correction of corrupt records, including, creating correction scripts
Run scripts to update synthetic datasets used in training facilities
Create and maintain reports in SQL
Attend meetings as the team’s representative
You will need to have:
Good experience of SQL Report writing and development
Experience of reviewing and interpreting ongoing business report requirements
Experience of research required data
Experience of building appropriate and useful reporting using SQL and associated tools
Experience of analysing existing SQL queries for performance improvements and suggesting new queries
Experience of developing procedures and scripts for data migration
Experience of providing timely scheduled management reporting
It would be great if you had:
Oracle EBS R12, Finance, HR, Payroll, CRM modules.
