About the Role
Here at Babcock International, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Test Engineer (Commissioning Technician) to join the Waterfront Engineering Team at Babcock.
This is a great opportunity to progress and develop your career, working as part of a growing team.
You will be responsible for the inspection, testing, calibration and commissioning of submarine and Ship systems and equipment. Specific areas of responsibility will include researching specifications, compiling test documentation and conducting fault diagnosis and system commissioning.
Ideally suitable candidates would have experience gained from a Naval Marine, Offshore or Power Generation environment.
The anticipated salary for this role will be £36,798 per annum.
What do I need to do the role?
We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate significant experience of working with propulsion and ships systems within a submarine operation, maintenance or commissioning environment. Key areas of competency we require are as follows:
Minimum of HNC or equivalent in the relevant discipline.
Knowledge of high energy systems found within a safety critical environment.
Competent user of IT systems including ERP, database and MS office software.
Strong focus on the application of Health & Safety principles to all work undertaken.
Ability to work to a consistently high standard within a fast moving, high pressure environment.
Good planning, organising, management and communication skills.
Effective relationship building and interpersonal skills.
What else do I need to know?
Core hours for this role is 37 per week across 4.5 days (half day Friday), there is optional overtime shifts.
