An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Civil Engineering Technician to join our structural engineering team to help deliver planning, design, highways & traffic engineering services.
Ideally, we are looking for a level 3 (advanced) apprentice or above for the role in the structures team, and a candidate who will be keen to study towards foundation degree in Engineering).
The position itself will include, but not be limited to:
Managing local highway authority abnormal load movement requests
Providing CAD support to structural engineers and bridge inspectors
Supporting bridge inspectors in preparing for and bridge inspections
Assisting with onsite bridge inspections - recording defects and obtaining measurements
Preparing and compiling inspection reports and defect sketches
Uploading bridge data onto client’s bridge management systems (structures databases)
Supporting engineers and inspectors in preparing H&S documentation for site inspections
Supporting design engineers in undertaking structural design work for highway structures
The ideal candidate should:
hold a current UK driving licence
be willing to undertake night work (often required for rail bridge inspections)
Level 3 Apprentice/A-levels.
In return for your hard work and commitment:
£18,000 per annum
25 days annual leave per annum
Training and Development (stud support towards foundation degree)
