DLA Piper is currently on its transitional journey of becoming the law firm of the future, embracing change, investing in and driving modern initiatives, including vast support of data management in all areas of the business, therefore we are looking to recruit a Web Intelligence Report Writer, who would join our well established finance centre of excellence in Sheffield.
This is a new role within the central Finance Management Information Reporting team, with the key aim of helping us to develop and streamline our existing reporting catalogue, specifically those which use SAP Business Objects, encompassed with the inclusion of gathering and understanding the requirements of the finance user community and ability to translate these into efficient and standardised reports. Furthermore, the current management is keen to upskill the existing team, therefore the role will also include an element of on the job training of other team members.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about data collection and financial reporting and have exceptional commercial acumen, in order to understand the commercial importance of the data collected, as well as superb stakeholder relationship skills.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for liaising with business users to understand their requirements of new or existing reports and planning how to re-write or write reports to suit these requirements
Understand the complexities and bespoke nature of our existing report portfolio and help to standardise and simplify this over time
Support the training and development of other MI team members, including creating training and support documentation
Help manage the creation of a reporting catalogue and change request process that are currently in their infancy
Experience using and writing reports in SAP Business Objects Web Intelligence, and similar reporting & visualisation solutions
Ability to understand and translate business requirements into reporting solutions
An understanding of financial information and accounting is desirable but not essential
Experience as a report writer / developer or similar with proven analytical skills
Able to handle multiple priorities, working to sometimes conflicting timescales in a fast-paced and challenging environment
Able to build trust and rapport to develop effective relationships, internally and externally
Have experience of training or mentoring individuals in report writing
