An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Stress Engineer to join Rolls-Royce Business in Solihull
The Stress Engineer will be responsible for the design of Control System and Externals components such as hydro-mechanical units (actuators, valves, pumps), electrical machines and units (generators, electrical engine controllers) engine dressings and structural components.
The Mechanical Integrity Engineer supports the Design function by undertaking analysis of the proposed designs and in-service issues to ensure that they are robust and that they meet requirements. The Mechanical Integrity Engineer also makes recommendations to optimise the design and applies Robust Engineering principles.

To conduct Structural Mechanics, Thermo-Mechanical and Aerothermal Design and Analyses.
To conduct Structural Mechanics, Thermo-Mechanical and Aerothermal Design experiments.
To resolve problems through evaluative judgements. Analyses factual information from multiple sources, interprets results and identifies effective solutions by applying their own technical knowledge, expertise and engineering judgement.
Is responsible for defined technical packages/investigations of work providing delivery against programme milestones within agreed cost, timescale and quality requirements.
To be a point of contact within a given engineering discipline and to share subject matter knowledge across the function.
To actively promote, encourage and support the identification and implementation of continuous improvements (of tools, processes and methods) both within and outside their immediate sphere of influence and take prompt action across the wider team.
Key Experiences and any Qualifications:
You will be degree-qualified in an Engineering discipline (e.g. BSc, MSc, MEng) or have equivalent experience.
We are looking for a detail orientated individual who understands key stress and thermal principles and analysis programmes (ANSYS/Abaqus/NASTRAN), or has a keen interest in learning about them.
You will be able to demonstrate analytical and innovative thinking to solve technical problems, as well as a desire for continuous self-improvement.
You will have good communication and presentation skills, and be comfortable discussing with people at all levels of the organisation
An ability to apply logical, analytical and innovative thinking on a range of technical problems and make balanced decisions across technical and business parameters.
You may have knowledge or experience of product integrity, liability, and aerospace certification frameworks, or similar experience from other regulated industries.
