Wheelchair services is part of Mobility Services, within Therapies and Rehabilitation at Airedale and we provide services for people with long term conditions in acute, out-patient and community settings. We have 4000 registered wheelchair service users and are based at Airedale General Hospital.
Our clinical team consists of Specialised Wheelchair Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Therapy Assistants and a Specialist Rehabilitation Engineer. We have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Technical Assistant.
Educated to BTEC Level III or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering subject, you will understand the technical and safety requirements of assistive technology and have experience of working with people with a range of health and mobility needs. Our aim is to optimise the lifecycle of our specialist equipment safely, which involves significant engagement and technical assessments with service users, carers and clinicians to achieve the job aims.
You will ensure we have the right equipment available at the right time to meet demand and that we replace redundant equipment appropriately. Confident with spreadsheets and IT systems you will analyse data to support this and provide information and reports.
You will organise your activities without direct supervision but will have access to clinical staff and a qualified specialist rehabilitation engineer. You will benefit from professional technical supervision by a registered clinical technologist.
