We have an exciting opportunity for a Supervisor to join the team.
The successful candidate will provide a technical engineering service with the minimum of supervision in respect of mechanical & electrical servicing, repairs, maintenance and installation. Responsible for undertaking Electrical planned preventative and reactive maintenance work services, ensuring adherence to operational, regulatory and contractual compliance. The role is critical to maintaining business functions, focussing upon critical, essential, Statutory and Non-essential systems and asset operational maintenance. The candidate will additionally be required to undertake the service and maintenance of other assets / trades were deemed competent to do so.
The successful candidates duties will include:
Support BSM & Facilities Co-Ordinator with contract PPM delivery and Extra Works Delivery
To undertake PPM, proactive and reactive works issued through the helpdesk within set time frames so that the customer expectations are met.
To undertake contractor control duties on behalf of the client, including monitoring of contractors and their workmanship, so that relevant standards are met.
The Contract Supervisor will, at times, and in certain specific circumstances assist the BSM in responding to the Client requests for costing exercise of Extra Works. This is a function (if within the skill remit of the Engineer and dependant on the complex nature of the task) that the Contract Supervisor will take on board thus freeing the BSM to concentrate on the overall Management of the Contract.
Professionally monitor all engineers / operatives and subcontractors under his area of responsibility ensuring compliance, quality of works and attention to detail to ensure best value for money and Engineers efficiency in undertaking this work
To ensure that equipment operates to specified performance criteria.
To ensure equipment and surrounding area conform to agreed company standards.
To provide a professional service and represent the company to ensure customer satisfaction.
To evaluate performance and ensure the proper servicing and maintenance of equipment under contract to the company is carried out.
To take a pro-active approach to client liaison and ensure that concerns are dealt with or relayed to management as necessary.
To be fully aware of contractual requirements and customer needs at all times.
To ensure that administration requirements are actioned on time and all necessary documents / records are maintained accurately.
Working in a safe manner at all times, complying with current Health & Safety legislation and Servest Arthur McKay H&S policy.
Ensure That all sub-contractors and engineers carry out risk assessments and method statements before carrying out all and any work.
Attend monthly Client meetings alongside BSM , Review minutes and follow a set agenda
Audit and inspect engineers/operatives work if on site to ensure correct and safe working procedures are being adhered to
To apply for this role you must obtain the following qualifications and experience:
Qualified Electrician, City & Guilds 2330 & 2391 or NVQ Level 3, 18th Edition
5 years post apprenticeship experience
Fully conversant with large complex multi functioning HVAC buildings.
Knowledge and understanding of engineering operations within Critical Environments.
Sound technical and environmental awareness.
Complex Building Management Systems.
Load management and control systems.
Energy Management systems.
Permit to Work and Authorisation processes.
Have good understanding of Health & Safety issues
Desirable to have experience with undertaking Authorised Persons duties in HV/LV Systems.
SMSTS or SSSTS preferred but training may be provided.
Full clean driving licence
They will also obtain the following key skills:

Ability to work on own initiative and or as part of a team.
Ability to work safely at all times and the ability to understand contract and Health & Safety requirements/regulations.
To attempt to solve issues in the first instance in a manner that will not put the client’s products or people at risk of contamination as a result of our works.
Possess effective communication skills with ability to write technical reports and or communicate verbally with supervisor, manager, helpdesk and client representatives.
Ability to use electronic hand held devices & IT literate
Contribute to business continuity.
Awareness & understanding of statutory compliance obligations.
Ability to identify issues or risks that require escalation as necessary to Supervisor or manager.
Additionally this role will require Disclosure Scotland Clearance. Baseline or other similar security clearance may also be required.
Hours and Environment
This role will be based at the West Lothian Civic Centre in Livingston. Standard working hours are 08:00 – 16:30 (with a 30 minute meal break), however a flexible approach to working hours is required to ensure access to client sites as required
Overtime may also be required.
