Schneider Electric has a great opportunity for the right person to join our team as a Project Engineer in the North West part of the Country.
The successful Project Engineer will manage implementing and completing the design of projects with the customer.
The role involves helping to plan and engineer multiple designs and produce the graphics and software for projects as well as ensuring the completion to the satisfaction of the Customer, with test and witness documentation completed and submitted.
In this role you will have the opportunity to work in collaboration with the Project Managers, Engineering Manager and the Engineering Excellence teams, while also assisting Operations Managers with additional sales proposals.
Take full commercial and technical ownership of allocated projects from receipt of order and handover from Commercial Department, to contract close
Be the single point of project management contact for the customer, including site attendance as required, or manage an external contracted manager
Develop and manage the project programme
Update project forecast each month in line with finance department requirements
Provide full technical management of the project - directly or facilitated through the technical team
Design and help Project Management Team to deliver multiple projects assisting with procurement, invoice approval, variation handling, final account agreement, monthly cost to complete reviews
Assist the Project Manager Team with the Engineering design of BMS and potentially integrated projects, I/O schedules, description of operation, control panel design approval, plant schematics, H & S documentation, O & M documentation to our expected levels of Quality and maintaing the required levels to ensure we meet the required ISO Standards
Determine need for and utilise internal and external Engineering resources as necessary
Provide full commercial management of the project
Determine site resource needs and request from departments as necessary. Manage the site activities.
Provide Safety and Quality requirements for the project including generation and issue of appropriate Risk Assessments and Method Statements
Support to the bid process, as required by the Commercial Department, providing input on project timescales
Reports on all issues relevant to the business, including competitor, marketing information potential threats and difficulties satisfying customer needs. Cover in Monthly report or by exception for significant issues
Developing and maintaining key customer relationships to deliver increased sales
Support to other members of the Operational Team to ensure absences are covered and workload met
To work to existing procedures and assist in setting and establishing new operating procedures.
Ensure that any new opportunities uncovered are auctioned as appropriate and directed to the Commercial Department to increase orders
Be able to demonstrate related work experience and a strong track record in similar role
You will be educated to HNC or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic Engineering but please note that candidates with equivalent experience will also be considered
Extensive technical development experience and technical knowledge of Schneider and third-party technical solutions is essential
Previous experience in BMS Systems or M&E Systems
If you have previous experience with our product ranges that can form an advantage, but not essential
The ability to own and follow through on commitments to completion
Fluency in English (written and verbal) is a must
Hold a full driving license
