CEM Systems is a leading provider of customized security management solutions including integrated access control, ID Badging and alarm monitoring systems. Manufacturing the hardware and system software, CEM's range of solutions are expandable and have the option to be fully integrated with third party external subsystems. The end result is a fully integrated security management system embracing access control, audio, intrusion, video, intercoms and other related subsystems.
The Principal Hardware Engineer will have the responsibility to:
Design, prototype and test electronic circuits and products
Support for manufacturing group in the selection and approval of alternate components and suppliers
Ensure products comply with necessary regulatory, legal and safety requirements.
Create, modify and update engineering documentation and change notices.
Mentor engineers and take lead role in product development

What we look for
[Required Qualifications – Education, Skills & Experience]
BSC Hons Degree Electronic Engineering or combination of relevant education (HND, HNC) and five to ten years Electronics Design experience at senior design or project leadership level.
Expertise in use of Altium for Schematic, PCB design and library management.
Expertise in the development, testing and compliance of DC:DC switch mode power supplies.
Extensive knowledge, experience, and evidence of hardware design & development:
Product feature definition,
Embedded design (experience of ARM Cortex A or M preferred),
Low cost component selection and management of supplier reps/distributors/FAEs,
Design for regulatory compliance,
Design for EMC and EMC troubleshooting,
Test, debug, and diagnostic and troubleshooting skills,
Design for manufacturing (DFM), design for assembly (DFA) and design for test (DFT),
General analogue electronics skills required and Audio Electronics experience would be desirable.
Track record of interacting with mechanical engineers and product designers.
Evidence of successful RF antenna tuning an advantage.
