WSP are seeking an enthusiastic and talented Engineers to join the Highways team based in Bournemouth on a permanent basis.
The role would be based in a design office and covers an interesting and varied workload – from major highways improvements through to a diverse range of small and medium projects.
A typical week would include:
Delivering highway projects and services for the Central Government, local authorities and other public/private sector clients.
Supporting all team members with the delivery of a programme of highway schemes and asset management services.
Undertaking technical tasks following design standards and guidance.
Liaising with contractors to develop design and construction support services for highways projects.
Assisting the Team Leader and other team members in technical and project management matters to ensure the effective delivery of projects whilst aiding your technical/professional development.
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
A relevant engineering qualification and relevant post qualification experience.
An Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status of a relevant professional body (Or working towards)
The ability to work under minimum supervision, or as part of a larger delivery team, on complex projects in a CAD/BIM environment and in line with quality management systems.
An understanding of Construction Design and Management (CDM) regulations.
Experience of using design standards and guidance such as Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB), Manual of Contract for Highway Works (MCHW) and Manual for Streets.
Experience of early contractor involvement, liaising with contractors through the design and other stages of highway contracts is desirable, not essential.
