This role is for a Systems Engineer (SE) to work within the LMUK RMS Military Solutions (MS) Systems Engineering Team on a variety of on-contract programmes, bids & proposals and internal research and development projects.
Working for Lead Systems Engineers (LSE), the SE will provide knowledge and design support to the Lockheed Martin UK RMS Engineering & Technology team by undertaking Systems Engineering activities. Specifically they will provide technical leadership and oversight on the design, development, and testing for Mission Systems, covering areas such as:
Assessment of system performance requirements such as accuracy, confidence, timing, probability of success, mission effectiveness and other key performance criteria/measurements.
Definition, development and refinement of models (ranging from spreadsheet through analysis tools to complex models/simulations) to represent contributions to system performance.
Analysis to optimise performance and understand impacts of predicted vs actual subsystem performance on total system performance.
Analysis of test data to validate and refine models, validate test results vs predictions, diagnosis of faults and impacts.
Generation of analysis reports to support acceptance of complex performance requirements based on modelling and/or integration of subsidiary test results.
The SE will also be required to perform more generic Systems Engineering activities, such as:
Requirement analysis ensuring correct decomposition and flow down throughout requirements:
System Specification(SS)/Sub-System Specifications(SSS)/Software Requirement Specifications (SRS) derivation from System Requirement Documents (SRD)
Use of Case tools to correctly describe and link flow of requirements
Detailed reviews with customer, internal boards and external suppliers
Systems Architecture & System Design:
Design Analysis Reports (DARs)
Interface Requirement Specification (IRS)
Creation of System Definition Document (SDD)
Support Integration, Test and verification:
Review Test procedures
Support design for test systems relating to integration rigs
Support System verification and validation
Support to Airworthiness
Support to A/C and training system on specification and issues arising
Review of Flight Approval documentation.

The SE must be able to demonstrate experience /knowledge of the following:
Algorithm definition and implementation of test harnesses
Working with Software Engineers to support implementation and debugging
Development of algorithm test cases, test results analysis and debugging
Familiarity with data analysis and investigation of anomalies
Interest in operational analysis and performance optimisation
Desired skills, qualifications and experience
Knowledge and/or experience of the following would be advantageous:
Familiarity with mathematical modelling techniques and simulation
Familiarity with target tracking technologies such as Kalman and/or Particle Filters
Development of complex algorithmic and/or statistical simulations (e.g. MS Excel, Visual Ba for Applications or other ad hoc programming languages
Microsoft Office tools
