The Junior In-Store Device Engineer contributes to the design and development of new hardware/software solutions and the enhancement of existing products that enable data collection to support the Polling, Validation and Reporting solutions supplied to clients against the research and development roadmap.
The Junior In-Store Device Engineer together with the In-Store Device Engineer will evaluate new potential solutions and hardware options available in the market and ensure Retail Performance remain ahead of the competition. The Junior In-Store Device Engineer will act as the subject matter export for existing solutions to support and grow current offerings for new and existing customers and will work closely with the Product Innovation Manager to communicate new solutions to ensure the roadmap is relevant and up-to-date.

Maintain and rebuild exhibition display units on demand for various events/exhibitions
Must excel in a fast-paced, agile environment where critical thinking and strong problem-solving skills are required for success
Proven ability to function in a self-directed environment and take ownership of hardware and software developments
Respond to and follow up enquiries from sales to help resellers and end users select, optimal installation configurations
Build relationships across departments to fulfil client requirements
Strong understanding of Ethernet, TCP/IP routing, Knowledge of network packet analysis tools use, and configuration are essential
Subject Matter Export for existing and new counting solutions and be able to communicate these to the rest of the New Product Development team
Technical liaison with new solution providers, to research, test and productise new offerings and capabilities
To be successful in the role you’ll need the following skills and experience:-
Ability to prioritize workload and work to deadlines
Relevant experience in a similar industry/role is required
Attention to detail and strong technical/analytical skills are required
Experience in problem analysis and resolution of software problems is preferred
Numerical Competence and problem-solving logic is required
Sound knowledge of CAD software and other technical transferrable skills
