Mersen have a fantastic opportunity for a Graduate Controls Engineer to join our expanding growing global organization.
Working on a day shift pattern as a controls engineer will be to bring electronic and control expertise to support current and planned equipment to suit business needs and allow the department to focus on energy and plant efficiency and control to ensure process performance and reliability are optimized at all times.
Have a high level of aptitude for PLC controls, Inverter drives and knowledge of electrical fault finding and project management. Have the confidence and belief to coach and mentor others to raise the overall department competency level in a 24/7 working environment. Be driven and focused to ensure the most cost effective solutions are found at all times.
Participate and lead energy efficiency initiatives within scope of role.
Electrical fault diagnosis and repair with recommendations to prevent reoccurrence.
PLC programming knowledge and understanding to ensure plant and process are optimized
Lead and contribute to improvement projects on any site equipment of infrastructure projects.
Develop and support all site SCADA initiatives to ensure all data is monitored and displayed correctly to allow optimized operational control of site processes and equipment.
Support, train and mentor other in the quest of complete knowledge transfer to all interested stakeholders.
Assist in achieving all departmental and site KPI targets.
Ensure ‘value for money’ approach is used on all tasks undertaken.
Ensure all respective corrections are entered into CMM system.
Ability to demonstrate high attention to detail with good analytical and reporting skills.
Educated to BEng Degree level in an Electrical control discipline or equivalent
Knowledge of industrial maintenance field including fault finding on control panels, Induction heating process and vacuum equipment would be advantageous.
Allan Bradley and Siemens PLC knowledge would be advantageous but full training will be given.
Excellent verbal communication skills.
Ability to adapt to changes and to new challenges.
Self-starter, proactive, prepared to take initiative and work without direct supervision.
Works well under pressure.
Keen to develop skills and qualifications.
