QEC WTA Marine Systems Engineer

As a QEC WTA Marine Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for undertaking a defined range of engineering activities in line with all relevant processes and quality requirements, supplying advice and support to the QEC WTA Marine Systems Delegated Technical Authority, QEC Engineering team and other functions, and co-ordinate aspects of engineering activity ensuring defined objectives are achieved whilst continually maintaining quality and service requirements
This role will provide you with exposure to, and a greater understanding of a wide range of areas within the business, with potential to further develop your career within BAE and progression to Principal Engineer.
Your main responsibilities as a QEC WTA Marine Systems Engineer will involve:
Providing marine systems subject matter expertise and technical advice within the areas of platform systems, power and propulsion, HV & LV power distribution and aviation facilities.
Supporting the technical interface on all day-to-day matters associated with QEC Marine Systems engineering with the customer, alliance partners and key supply chain OEMs, including the Ministry DE&S, Naval Command, MCTA, etc.
Contributing to the management of the efficient, timely and safe implementation of in-service design change, particularly systems integration, update and upgrade activities.
Your skills and qualifications:
Extensive waterfront and operational experience in the marine/naval industry.
Capable and skilled marine engineer, with knowledge and practical experience in the marine systems engineering discipline.
Broad level of technical knowledge covering both mechanical and electrical marine engineering systems gained through extensive work.
Ability to solve technical problems through the evaluation of options, using judgement based on experience and an analysis of available information.
Qualified to minimum of HND level in a Marine Engineering discipline, and a member of a relevant professional body.
Understanding of the MOD/RN engineering and project processes and procedures, and the defence maritime industry.
Knowledge of industry and MoD design / safety management tools and processes.
