Wood Transmission & Distribution are currently recruiting a Graduate Planning Engineer to join their team in Glasgow, starting in September 2020. Our structured Graduate Programme is consistently recognised as one of the best programmes within the industry.

Job Objective, Roles and Responsibilities:
Under Guidance, provide support to the project Planning team within an assignment / project to facilitate the delivery of an efficient and effective planning service in accordance with Wood procedures and Contract requirements.
Responsible for personal safety and working within the provisions and guidelines of the Wood HSE processes.
Under the guidance of the Senior Planner / Planner assist in the preparation of appropriate project plans and schedules.
Where required assist with the accurate input of estimates and change requests into the planning system in accordance with the project WBS and Contract requirements..
Assist with the development of project manpower requirements based on project plans and schedules.
Assist with the capture and processing of project progress data and updating project plans and schedules to reflect this.
Assist with the preparation and issue of reports in line with the contract reporting requirements.
Attend project meetings as required.
Develop and maintain a good working knowledge of relevant scheduling software.
Support senior and planning personnel as appropriate.
Liaise with the project cost team to ensure the maintenance of accurate man hour forecasting
Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Wood Quality Assurance systems and processes.
Study and improve understanding of assignment / project objectives, organisation, and Contract requirements.
Understand the corporate and contract specific planning procedures and carry out all work in accordance with these.
Skills / Qualifications:
Degree in relevant technical or business discipline or can be substituted by suitable industry experience.
Understanding of basic Planning principles, Cost control and Estimating principles.
Preferred to have knowledge of and familiarity with manual and computerised project planning and scheduling techniques.
Knowledge of engineering and construction projects in the oil and gas industry, preferably in both onshore and offshore environments
Effective/competent Computerised systems skills
Basic understanding of project management principles and techniques.
Enthusiasm to work and develop your career within the Transmission & Distribution Industry
Demonstrate initiative, tenacity and excellent communication skills
Professional demeanor, interpersonal skills.
Possess an ability to learn quickly and be adaptable and flexible to match business requirements
Ability to work in multi-disciplinary team environments
