Opportunity for an Associate Mechanical Engineer to join our growing Building Performance Engineering (BPE) team in Manchester (M2 4DN) and become part of our thriving, award winning and highly successful multi-disciplinary consultancy.
We are enjoying exciting growth in Manchester (indeed, it is one of our priorities), with Dilon Hilton driving the Building Performance Engineering Division locally, Ruirui Sun in Fire, Danny Hope in Geo, Sam Denby in Transportation, Rob Henshall in Structures and Lewis Stonehouse in Acoustics developing the team to over 30 staff. Recent projects include Liverpool John Moores University, Southbank Leeds for The Guinness Partnership, Bengal Street Residential for Northern Group, Kirklees College, Lampwick for the Manchester Life development, ESFA Schools, large scale renewable energy production and multiple high-profile residential schemes across the UK.

What you’ll be responsible for
Commercially responsible for projects under your management and support team to meet financial KPIs
Client management and ability to seek out new fee-earning opportunities
Contributing to the sales plan and work winning
Support implementation of BPE strategy, potentially leading up a task group to drive efficiency and innovation
Reporting of project/office financial information to contribute to meeting monthly budget at team level
Project set up, briefing and take ownership of IMS implementation including proactive change control and lessons learnt for project list. Also includes interface and management of input from other divisions
Checking output of more junior engineers and coaching them to facilitate their technical progress
Working with other divisions to maximise efficiencies including cross-selling, shared initiatives, client management and lessons learnt
Instil the Hydrock ethos including wellbeing, day-off for good causes and 100 Best Companies To Work For in the team. Familiar with the company strategic plan and help define the BPE business plan
What skills and attributes are we looking for?
You will have worked your way up to Principal/Associate+ level, preferably in the local market.
You'll have project delivery down to a T and discovered your talent for business development and operations
