To enable the EDS team to rapidly deliver an accurate and robust (high quality) design on time utilizing a flexible and skilled workforce that meets cost weight & profitability objectives.
Deliver the right tools, processes & people (trained to the required standard) in time to enable rapid delivery of an accurate and robust (high quality) design.
Assist in achieving the required profitability targets to support Profitable Customer Growth and support the innovation targets of the global core technical roadmap.
List of Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain training plans for wider engineering team ensuring correct skill levels are achieved.
Deploy training as required to enable workforce to be flexibly deployed.
Identify potential tool and process improvements and drive changes through engineering team ensuring robust roll out and adoption.
Support roll out of data driven process to drive right first time engineering.
Track actual cost of the product and report status on regular basis to ensure costs are inline with forecast, review to avoid possible issues from plants or customers.
Technical reasoning and negotiation will be executed to ensure the Costing targets are delivered.
Support wider Lear team in ensuring design, cost and weight targets are achieved.
Prioritize ECRs (in line with project and customer needs) and support costing department (P&C and Purchasing).
Support engineering team in cost saving ideas in conjunction with Design Engineers and CTO group.
Provide cost estimation to design ideas.
Issue, Change Management & Release processes.
