We are currently looking for a talented and motivated Vertical Transportation Engineer to join our team. In this role, you'll be responsible for :
Working within a team environment under the supervision of senior personnel
Recognising the importance of delivery timescales;
Complying with the Company Integrated Management System (IMS);
Taking personal accountability for Health & Safety legislation;
Complying with project protocols;
Core duties and responsibilities:
Ensure that all work is carried out in full compliance with the Company’s Integrated Management System (IMS)
To work in both supervised and unsupervised environments ensuring that the technical content of all work carried out is correct and carried out in accordance within agreed timescales and within agreed budgets
Report to appropriate team leader on technical issues associated with project work
To be able to work in close collaboration with team members and other disciplines and have an appreciation of their role
To adhere to the company Health and Safety Policy
Represent the company at design team meetings
Produce & modify lift and escalator layout drawings
Review & modify technical reports, specifications and briefing notes
Collate layout information on manufacturers’ standard products, and to use that information to refine departmental standard data
Carry out departmental QA & IMS responsibilities
Be responsible for the specialist departments document management (online and hard copy)
Carry out lift traffic calculations and associated analysis works
Crosscheck documents and layout drawings
Carry out site surveys and people movement studies
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:
Computer literate, suitably skilled in the use of CAD software (ideally in AutoDesk AutoCAD, Revit, Bentley Microstation / Powerdraft and DigiPara)
Familiarity with a broad range of vertical transportation equipment, technical specifications and current lift codes and standards.
The ability to communicate in a fluent and positive manner with other team members and to produce reports in clear English.
Professional Membership and Qualifications:
Degree in relevant engineering discipline
Lift industry apprenticeship would be desirable
Have or be willing to work towards a recognised professional qualification and membership of appropriate professional bodies.
Ability to work on own initiative and seek assistance when required
Ability to organise and prioritise workload to ensure that timescales are met
Good problem solving/contingency planning skills with ability to find quick, innovative and practical solutions

Able to work collaboratively with others to form strong positive working relationships with colleagues, clients and contractors.

Salary range: £35 - £45k per annum
