As a Principal Transport Modeller, you will be involved in, and be responsible for, delivering a wide range of transportation projects, for various high-profile clients across Ireland and the UK. For you to fulfil this role you must have extensive knowledge and experience using industry standard modelling packages and recognised transport appraisal techniques.
Occasional travel within Ireland, to the UK and/or overseas, may be required.
Extensive years of relevant experience.
Any numerate degree in a relevant subject for example, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Geography or Economics.
Extensive experience as a Transport Modeller for road traffic and/or public transport studies with the ability to contribute to the success of a range of high profile transport projects.
A high level of proficiency working with macroscopic transport modelling software (one or all of SATURN, VISUM, CUBE).
Experience of demand modelling.
Numerate with excellent data analysis skills. Competency in data analysis packages, such as Excel/Access
Ability to lead a team and be responsible for the technical delivery of work packages or projects.
Ability to work both as part of a wider multi-disciplinary team as well as possessing the ability to work independently to solve problems.
Ability to produce clear, precise and coherent analysis and reports using data from transport models and scheme appraisal techniques.
Experience of successfully mentoring and developing junior colleagues.
Post-graduate qualification in a relevant Transport discipline.
Chartered Engineer or other relevant professional membership / accreditation e.g. Engineers Ireland, CIHT, TPP, CEng.
Experience working with microscopic and junction modelling software (e.g. VISSIM, LinSig, etc).
Knowledge and experience of GIS software e.g. MapInfo.
Knowledge and experience of computer programming languages e.g. Python, VB, C++, etc.
Project Management experience demonstrating responsibility for task, financial and risk controls.
