THE GIG
We’re looking for someone to join the existing product development team to bring to life the footwear sample requirements of the business – Ensuring every sample is market relevant and profitable for the main range and inline collaboration projects. You’ll also be assisting in research as required to bring new innovations to the brand as well as offering shoe making knowledge and guidance to other members of team.
You’ll be part of this fast-paced department that is responsible for delivering high quality samples within price and within the season calendar delivery dates. Working directly with the product and design teams within your given category to ensure you understand the brief and design aesthetic requirements, then use your manufacturing knowledge to build the samples with our existing supply chain.
As our Product Developer you will be responsible for:
Building main range samples for an allocated category, working collaboratively within the team and individually where required to create specifications, constructional tech packs, work on fit testing, line adjustment, spec amended, and cost analysis.
Working proactively with our sourcing and supply chain teams to follow up on sample progress, manufacture considerations, costing implications and track against seasonal delivery dates.
Supporting the existing development team in checking the initial quality of samples, offering advice on improvements on build of the samples to make them suitable for production – helping to compare against specs and review quality to complete sample tracking, labels, and hand over documentation.
Taking ownership of documentation to support the sample build, including specification sheets that identify all components used within the product – comparing against supporting document from the factories on cost breakdown to ensure accuracy and efficiency is achieved. Keeping records of changes during the season to capture relevant changes to the product and fit to support the sign off the final samples.

THE STUFF THAT SETS YOU APART
Put simply, for this role the key things we’re looking for are:
Experience in footwear manufacture.
Excellent practical knowledge of building footwear and writing specs
Individual and Collaborative problem solving and good understanding of price build
Ability to prioritise workload and follow seasonal sample making schedules that run simultaneously thought the year.
