Instrument Engineer(Job Number: ECR00037B)
Duties will include:
Work activities will include both project and proposal work where both the technical approach and continuity must be aligned.
Work activities for both projects and proposals will be executed across all phases of projects including Conceptual Studies; Basic; FEED; and Detailed Design
Projects and proposals are for process plant and facilities across the Chemical; Oil and Gas; Petro Chemical sectors
Project work will include development of Instrument Engineering deliverables as required on a project by project basis
Project work as the functional Lead Engineer for projects as required by the C&I Group Manager, or Engineer on a large project reporting to the Senior / lead Instrument Engineer
Assist the C&I Group Manager in:
Developing corporate procedures, standards, specifications and the required design tools for compliance with the SHE policy and efficient execution of production work
Defining the Development and Training needs for the discipline, support graduate and young Engineer / designer development
4+ years experience of Instrument Engineering on Medium / Large capital projects from concept to start-up.
Be a self-motivated team player and self-sufficient together with ability to work with minimal supervision and capable of identifying and developing project wide design deliverables with familiarity of the interpretation of appropriate national & international industry standards.
Competent of working within the C&I Discipline of a contracting organisation.
Experience in leading C&I scope on Small Projects
Degree qualified for the related discipline
Working towards Chartered Engineer status as a Member of the Institute of Measurement and Control (IMC) or Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET).
Proven ability for equipment specification and selection and in ensuring compliance from the suppliers, preferably within an EPC contracting organization.
Experience in project execution using selected design tools and techniques.
Conversant for budget & Schedule control / monitoring and reporting
Experience in design safety, constructability,
To be able to work to Company standards
Innovative when appropriate.
To be conversant with IEC 61511 Safety Lifecycle and Emergency Shutdown System architecture and design and SIL determination.
� Conversant in specifying PLC / DCS / ESD / SIS hardware and software system modifications including working with control system vendors and Client applications and systems engineers.
� Capable of interfacing with Client Engineers and Vendor personnel to facilitate project execution
� Conversant in Electrical protection methodologies.
� Experience in Instrumentation and Control requirements for Mechanical packages.
� Experience in P&ID development.
� Experience in Sizing of flow devices / control valves / relief devices.
� Experience in specification of flow, pressure, level and temperature instrumentation, control and ESD valves with instrument vendors.
� Experience with Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT),
� Knowledge in Smart Plant Instrumentation (SPI - INtools).
